Street party for The Audience with the Queen

Seaford Community Cinema is celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with a special National Theatre Encore screening of The Audience on Thursday 9th June.

Prior to the screening, ticket holders will get to enjoy a traditional street party complete with cream teas, cucumber sandwiches and entertainment from Seaford’s Pop Up Singers. There will also be an opportunity to be photographed with HRH (in the form of a life size cut out) and win a royal hamper in a raffle.

Sophie McCallum, Press & Publicity Officer said: “We try to put on events around our films to make it more of a social occasion and thought this was a great opportunity to do something fun.

“We’ve had the Seaford Pop Up Singers along before and they create a great atmosphere so we hope people enjoy the entertainment.”

The celebrations start at 6pm giving plenty of time to enjoy the party before the screening at 7pm which includes an exclusive Q&A with Helen Mirren and director Stephen Daldry.

For sixty years, Queen Elizabeth II has met with each of her twelve Prime Ministers in a private weekly meeting. No one knows what they discuss, not even their spouses. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

The cinema has regular screenings of world cinema and latest blockbuster releases on Friday nights as well as the National Theatre Live and Encore productions.

The season runs until the end of June and you can keep in touch with the latest news on Facebook
